One of the club's aspiring hill climbers and TT enthusiast, Brodie Johnson, aged 13, took part in Buxton CC's Hill Climb open event on Saturday 9 Setpember.

He came away with the top juvelille place with an impressive time of  5.54 seconds on the J9/17 (Bunsall Cob) course, a distance of 0.9 miles. A course not for the faint hearted, starting at the bottom of the incline (SK 014758) near to Errwood Reservoir on the unclassified road (Goyts Lane) leading from the Goyt Valley towards the top of Long Hill (A5004 - Whaley Bridge to Buxton road).

A great result for Brodie who has only just started competing in hill climbs and time trials. He has been training this summer on the Long Eaton TT course and has had success in the school games in June.

He added to his great wins on Sunday 1 October at the Monsall Hill Climb finishing an impressive second in a highly competitive field.

Brodie now has more challenges to come -  the National Closed Circuit TT champs on 8 October, Riber and Bank Hill Climbs on 22 October and the National Hill Climb Champs in the Lake District on 29 October.
