On Saturday 8 July, Andrew Field capped off a great race by taking first place in the under 14s race at Curborough.

Working with team mate Brodie Johnson, they attacked throughout the race and made it an exciting spectacle.

Another watching parent from the club, Tom Kite, said: "His win was absolutely amazing. He attacked the bunch on a number of occasions. Then with about 8/9 laps remaining, he put in a massive attack. Another rider bridged over to him after two laps and the two worked together to hold a 15 second gap on the main bunch that now included the u16s. He was stuck on the front so slowed it down then hit out and kicked with 200M to go and won convincingly. It was a fabulous show of mature racing. You cant underestimate how good a ride it was. Pure class. Some riders will ride a whole career and not get to win a bike race in that fashion."
