We are bursting with pride as our young rider Edward Homer continues to prove himself in the long-distance cycling world. This is a discipline where junior participants are rare, therefore receiving a national award is a massive achievement!

Edward has been officially honored by Audax UK, collecting the Junior Distance (BCF) Trophy, during the ceremony in York. In true Homer family style, he and his dad cycled to the event, proudly arriving in their Beeston RC jerseys!

Audax cycling is a niche area of the sport, known for its Grit and independence, with riders like adopting a self-sufficient and resilient mindset. There aren’t many children who take on long-distance challenges, but Edward has shown time and time again his determination and love for the sport and Audax events.

This season, Edward earnt 8.5 points in the Junior Distance Category, a total that placed him at the top of the national leaderboard for 2025. This recognizes him as one of the most promising young endurance riders in the country.

At the young age of 11 Edwards journey is only just beginning, but he is proving that long-distance cycling isn’t just for adults, but for anyone who has the heart and determination to take on the challenge.

We couldn’t be prouder of this young rider!
